Helen M. "Granny" Ables, 98, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 3, 1913 in Fort Wayne, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Fort Wayne.For many years she enjoyed square dancing and crochet. Surviving are her sons, David "Bob" (Marlene) Ables and Thomas G (Jan) Ables both of Fort Wayne, daughter in law, Debra Ables of Fort Wayne, grandchildren, Sheri Harlow, Pam Sliger, Bobby Ables, Angie Hubler, Andrew Ables and Judi Mathieson. 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, and special friend Ruth Light of Fort Wayne, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Ables Sr., son, George W Ables Jr. parents, Charles and Mary Andrews, brother Carl Andrews and sister Margaret Chisholm. Mass of Christian Burial is Wed. 1:00 PM, February 15, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 4525 Arlington Avenue with calling 2 hours prior.
