HELEN R. GOEBL (Nee Sabo). Helen was born November 13, 1924 in Fairport Harbor, OH where she spent her childhood. She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Sabo. She was the beloved wife of the late William " Lump" Goebl who she married at Cleveland Court House on January 3, 1953. During her time in Fairport Harbor, she operated her own beauty shop. Once she moved to Cleveland she was an elevator operator at National City Bank, a job she really liked. She lived in Avon Lake for many years and raised her daughters there. She proudly worked in the Avon Lake High School cafeteria as a head cashier and part time cook for 18 years. She had recently been living at the Rae Ann Suburban Nursing Home after a short time at Independence Village. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved the Cleveland Indians and traveling. She was a talented Hungarian cook and enjoyed working with her hands to create quilts that she often gave as gifts. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her daughers Barbara McNally (Jeffrey) of Knoxville, TN and Beverly Russell (Timothy) of Avon Lake, OH. Grandmother of Sarah McNally, T.J. Russell and Trisha Russell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents and siblings Elizabeth Boyko, Mary Campagna, Ann Bosze, Margaret Butcher and Joe Sabo. Passed away Friday July 22, 2011. Memorials may be forwarded to the charity of donor's choice. Private services were held.
