HELEN SIZEMORE ADAMS, 91, of Annapolis, MD, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Helen was one of nine children, born on September 11, 1920, in Bloomington, IL, to Peter and Mary Etta Sizemore. She was a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Business and received a Masters Degree in Business from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She became a business teacher and taught for many years at Walter E. Stebbins High School in Dayton Ohio, Hayfield Secondary School and Edison High School in Alexandria, Virginia.
Helen is survived by her daughter Karen (Clyde) Wilson, of Pahrump, NV; her son Douglas Adams (Mary Anne Walsh) of Annapolis, MD; five grand children: Chris Branson of Crestwood, Il; Lisa (Gregg) Scott and Molly Branson of Edelstein, Il; Taylor Adams and Austin Adams of Annapolis, MD; five great grand children: Cannon Carr, Ily Scott, Cooper Scott, Sawyer Scott, and Aylish Scott of Edelstein, Il; one sister, Nancy Dittmar of Milledgeville, Il, and one brother, Peter Sizemore, Jr. of Macclenny, Fl.
She was preceded in death by her husband Winston Adams, daughter Marcia Adams, her parents Pete and Mary Etta Sizemore, and seven siblings.
Helen was an active member at the St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater, MD, where a service will be held Thursday, December 29, at 11:00am with a visitation at 10:00 am for friends and family. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
