OBITUARY

HELENA PRYOR

Helena Pryor, “Grammy”, died September 21, 2009, at her residence in Vero Beach, FL.

She was born in Boston, MA and was a resident of Indian River County (Wabasso and Vero Beach) for 63 years.

She retired from the Indian River County School District where she served as a Teacher’s Assistant for 20 years. She volunteered at Pelican Island Elementary School earning the designation “senior Volunteer of the year” for Indian River County Schools. She was a founding member and former Vice-President of the local “Florida-Irish-American” Club and was also a member of the Charles L. Futch Post 189 American Legion (and Past Auxiliary president). Other civic engagements included the Pilot Club, Polish-American Club, The Farm Bureau, University of Florida Orange and Blue Foundation Member and she served as past P.T.A. President of Wabasso Elementary School. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church for over 60 years.

Survivors include her son, Samuel Pryor of Wabasso, FL; daughter Gerri McPherson of Vero Beach and 3 grandchildren. Mrs. Pryor was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Gerald C. Pryor.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., September 23, 2009 at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., September 24, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.
