Helma J. Thomas, 82, of the 700 block of Remington Ct., Chesapeake, VA, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at her home. Born in Germany, Helma was a retired supervisor for the Christopher Blind Mission. She was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church and their Heart to Heart Group. She also enjoyed her German luncheon Group. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, F. David Thomas; her son, Thorsten Passek of Munich, Germany; and seven stepsons. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with The Rev. Kathleen M. Bobbitt officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 233 Mann Dr., Chesapeake, VA 23322 Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
