Helmi H. THORNTON

Helmi H. Thornton, age 96 of Marquette, Michigan passed away at home on June 29, 2011 following a short illness and under the care of UP Home Health and Hospice. She was born on December 2, 1914 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Charles and Julia Maki. Helmi is survived by 4 children, Catherine Rudolph of Grand Rapids, MN, Robin Roberts of Marquette, MI, Peter (Jeanne) Thornton of Coleraine, MN and Pamela Adams of Jasper, GA; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Helmi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; an infant son, Robert; and her sister, Catherine. Honoring Helmi’s request, no services are scheduled. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers of UP Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Dan Hardie, special friends, Nancy and Dave Skoog and their son, Jeffrey, and Kay Magadanz for the excellent and compassionate care given to Helmi.
