Henrietta D. Glon, 93, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Hampstead Court in South Bend) died at 11:45 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing in Goshen, IN.

She was born on July 26, 1915 to the late William and Wanda (Kazmierczak) Jankowski in Rolling Prairie, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents, one son, Robert Bernard Glon preceded her in death on May 1, 1943. Also preceding her in death were, one sister, Helen Topolski of South Bend, IN; five brothers, John, Leo, and Stanley Jankowski, all of New Carlisle, IN; Frank Jankowski of South Bend, IN; and William Jankowski of Berrien Springs, MI.

Mrs. Glon retired in 1981 from Easy-Heat Wirecraft in Lakeville, IN, after 25 years of employment.

On June 1, 1935, as Henrietta D. Jankowski, she married Julius L. Glon at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church-Terre Coupee in New Carlisle, IN. He died on October 15, 1995.

She is survived by her son, John J. (Nancy) Glon of Goshen, IN; seven grandchildren, John J. (Charlene) Glon, Jr.; Jennifer (Jon) Coy; James (Kami) Glon; Jackie (Brad) Clayton; Josette (Jeff) Kubaszyk; Jeffrey P. (Tara) Glon; Jay (Lisa) Glon; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and four step great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Glon was a member of St. Jude Parish; former member of St. John the Baptist Parish, where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society; member of Golden Cluster of St. Hedwigs church; Bendix Retirees Club; Ladies of the Moose; American Legion Pulaski Post Womens Auxiliary #357; and Z.B. Falcons Nest #80.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the administration and staff of The Maples, all of whom gave such loving and comforting care to our mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be from 2-6 PM Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, and from 9-9:45 AM Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. Jude Catholic Church. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 Sunday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. Jude Catholic Church, with Rev. John Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
