SAUGUS - Mr. Henry "Buddy" F. Merrifield, Jr., 60 years, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 16th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose.
Born in Melrose and raised in Saugus, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Shea) Merrifield. A lifelong resident of Saugus, he was serving his second term as a Town Meeting member for Precinct 3. He was also a member of the Saugus Democratic Town Committee, the Friends of Saugus Public Library and the Saugus Historical Society. He worked for several years as a cashier at the Riverside II convenience store in Lynn.
Mr. Merrifield was the devoted brother of Janet M. Merrifield of Saugus, loving companion of Randy-Sue Abber of Saugus for over 30 years, and cousin to Robert Blakeley and his family of Saugus.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Friends of the Saugus Public Library, 295 Central St., Saugus, MA 01906.
A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 164 Winter St., Saugus on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS.
