Henry Pryor, 50 of Camden, Arkansas died Sunday, December 9, 2007 in a vehicle accident in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from the recent ice storm. He was a native of Kirbyville, Texas and was born November 20, 1957 to the late Elton Aubrey and Nell (Gee) Pryor.
Henry graduated from Sam Houston State University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity and earned a masters of business administration from Louisiana Tech University. Henry had a career in banking beginning at First National Bank of Shreveport, Louisiana, continuing with First Union Bank in Portsmouth, Virginia, Executive Vice President of Heartland Community Bank of Camden, Senior Vice President Farmers Bank and Trust of Camden, and First National Bank and Trust of Shawnee, Oklahoma where he served as Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.
Henry's focus was on his community and the service he could provide to business and the community at large. Henry was instrumental in preserving historic properties in Camden. He served on the Ouachita River Improvement Board, Camden Area Industrial Development Corporation, was past President of the Camden Area Chamber of Commerce, the Ouachita Partnership for Economic Development, Camden Rotary Club, past Vice President of Finance of the First United Methodist Church, Ouachita County Historical Society, past Treasurer of the Ouachita River Valley Association, past member of the Arkansas Historic Alliance, chair member of the Camden Daffodil Festival, actively involved in the establishment of the Clifton-Greening Street Historic District, was a graduate of Leadership Camden Area, a Life/Eagle Scout and Order of Arrow with the Boys Scouts of America, Governor appointed member of the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources Advisory Committee, and member of Rotary Club of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Survivors are his wife of 21 years, Angela Woodward Pryor of Camden, Arkansas; special cousin, Robert Lee Fuller, Jr. of Call, Texas; mother-in-law, Anne Burke Woodward of Magnolia, Arkansas; brother-in-law, W.A.G. Woodward, III of Benton, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Margaret Woodward Molleston of Spring, Texas; nephews and nieces, W.A.G. Woodward, IV, Sydney Cronin, Jessica Margaret Molleston, Mac Woodward, James Woodward; and numerous cousins.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church Great Hall in Camden, Arkansas with Rev. Buddy Ratliff and Rev. John Dill officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Great Hall.
