Mr. Henry W. Ochab, Of Watertown, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. He was 88.

Henry was born May 23, 1921 in Cambridge a son of the late Michael and Mary (Ciurko) Ochab and had been a life-long Watertown resident. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. Henry was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.

He worked for over 20 years at the Newtonville Post Office on Washington Street in Newton before retiring in 1987. Previously, he had worked for over 20 years at B.F. Goodrich Company.

Henry was a true ‘handy-man’ and enjoyed working around his homes in Watertown and Ogunquit. He will be remembered as a good neighbor who was always willing to lend a hand. He was happiest when surrounded by his family at gatherings and holiday’s. He and his wife travelled extensively and enjoyed their trips to the islands.

His wife, Muriel A. (Fiamingo) Ochab died in 2008. He is also predeceased by his siblings, John Ochab, Joseph Ochab and Helen Kidd.

He leaves his son, Dr. Jonathan M. Ochab, D.M.D. & his wife Paula of Franklin; his granddaughters, Jessica L. & Rebecca N. Ochab; his sister, Agnes Pietrasiak of Englewood, Florida; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the STANTON FUNERAL HOME, 786 Mt. Auburn St. (Rt 16) Watertown on Thursday at 9:30. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 6-8PM. Interment with military honors in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
