Mrs. Hilda J. (Harbaugh) Gutshall, 86, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA, and formerly of 938 Sunset Ave., Waynesboro, died at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2012, in the nursing home. Born May 21, 1925 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Maude (Byers) Harbaugh. Mrs. Gutshall graduated from Emmitsburg High School with the class of 1943. She and her husband, the late Charles R. Gutshall, were married on October 12, 1946 in Emmitsburg. They moved to Sunset Ave. in 1961. Mr. Gutshall died on June 24, 2008. Mrs. Gutshall was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, and the National AARP. She is survived by one daughter, Victoria G. "Vicki" Sprenkle and her husband Randy of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Stephanie Sprenkle and Chuck Sprenkle; one sister, Blanche Orner of Emmitsburg; one niece; and one nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, J. Lewis Harbaugh. Services and burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery. However, the family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Friday morning, January 13, 2012, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
