McCann
Horace E. McCann, 79, of 773 Nancy Ln., Lancaster, PA, died on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Hospice of Lancaster County.
Born in Duncannon, PA, he was the husband of Shirley Ann Mullady McCann and they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 23rd.
He was the son of the late Horace E. and Florence Evans McCann.
Horace worked for Miles Herr Contractors and did roofing and aluminum siding work and retired from the Lancaster County Courthouse where he managed the maintenance department. He proudly served his country as a Corporal with the United States Army from 1953-1955.
Horace was a life member of the Amvets Post 19 and enjoyed golf, hunting, telling jokes to make people laugh, and making woodcrafts.
He will be lovingly remembered as his wife's best friend, 5 children; Dorothy, wife of Randy Cooper; Edward, husband of Jamie McCann; David, husband of Wilma McCann; Renee, wife of Eddie Candelaria, and Steve McCann; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard, husband of Joanne McCann, Johnstown, Pa and a sister, Gloria Strine, Halifax, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Horace's Life Celebration Funeral Service from the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St. Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with The Rev. Robert G. Hunsicker officiating. Interment at Riverview Burial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until time of service. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P.O.
