Howard E. Pensack, 80, of White Township, NJ, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Scranton, PA on September 12, 1931 he was the son of the late Jacob and Emma W. Pensak and step-son of the late Gustav Tetz. Mr. Pensack was the food service supervisor for the County of Warren for ten years before retiring. Previously he was a shipping clerk and chemical operator for 29 years at the former Celanese Corporation. Mr. Pensack had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pensack had attended the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford at Hazen. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 131, Belvidere, NJ. Mr. Pensack was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables and operating his fruit stand and talking with people. He was most fond of his loyal dog Leo. In addition to his parents and step-father, Howard was predeceased by five brothers, Leonard, Edwin, Jacob, Erwin and Herbert. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Shirley Jones Pensack; two daughters, Pam Maertens and her husband Bodo, and Karen Pensack and her companion Abraham Smith; two sons, Howard George Pensack and Brian Pensack and his wife Andrea; eight grandchildren, Dietrich Maertens, Sabrina Brownell, Tanya Chaney, Josh Pensack, Tyler and Shawnee Smith, Olivia and Isabelle Pensack; seven great-grandchildren, Ty, Troy, Patrick, Emma, Alexander, Trent, and Nathan; two brothers, Elmer Pensack and his wife Karen, and C. David Tetz and his wife Bonnie; two sisters, Carol Fagnan and her husband Bill, and Ester Yeats. The Family members wish to thank Dr. Jerald Friedman for the years of his devoted care to Howard. Contributions are requested to be made in his memory to the Belvidere Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 128, Belvidere, NJ or the Good Will Fire Company, 689 Water Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823.
