Howard E. “Gene” Yeager

Howard E. “Gene” Yeager, 67 of Beckley went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2011.
Born August 1, 1944, he is the son of the late Howard and Barbara Cook Yeager.
Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching westerns on TV. Howard was employed as a coal miner with East Gulf Coal Company. He also worked for Beckley Walmart for several years. Howard was a member of the Sophia 1st Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Charles Leonard Yeager and sister-in-law Betty Yeager; niece Amy Delp.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 42 years Carol Farley Yeager of Beckley; daughters Diana Waddell and husband Earl F. “Duke” of Beckley, Marsha McLemore and husband Terry of Beckley, Leisa Moore and husband Brad of McKinney, VA; sons Bob Alderman and wife Kay of Crab Orchard, Tim Alderman and fiancée Sonya Adkins of Scarbro; ten grandchildren, Wayne, Kim, Scott, Chad, Bobby, Steven, Jennifer, Amanda, Emily, Caleb; ten great-grandchildren, Nichole, Zachary, Ashley, Bobbi Jo, Isabella, Amon, Ethan, Bryson, Landon and Maia; also sister Barbara Delp of Chilhowie, VA.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Charles Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or you may make donations to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr, Beckley, WV in Gene’s memory.
