Howard Lockway was born in Copper Hill, outside Globe, Arizona Territory, on February 11, 1911, and passed away New Year's Day, 2012, at the age of 100. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Esther, a son, Howard James, and his sisters, Ruth Woodward, Muriel Hanson and Myra Feuerriegel. His is survived by a son, John Price of Cornville, Arizona, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Howard was the son of John and Zadie Lockway, and spent his early years in Copper Hill and Globe, where his father worked for the Iron Cap Copper Company. He worked as a miner when he was 17, and was a Phoenix police detective in the 1940's. He owned an American Motors dealership in Laguna Beach, California before returning permanently to Arizona in 1970, and owned automobile dealerships in Flagstaff and Prescott.
