SACRE Ida Lillian Sacre embraced eternal peace on Nov. 7, 2009. Born to Albert and Mildred Buppert in Hobson, VA, April 8, 1931, she joined the Army in 1949 and was assigned to Fort Sam Houston, where she met her husband, Emil A. Sacre. She touched hundreds of students' lives during her 35-year teaching career at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Frank, and grandchild Cassandra Rodriguez. She is survived by brothers George and Andrew; sister, Carolyn; children, Sam, Gail Rodriguez, and Karen Al-Bahloly; and grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Claire, and Kaitlyn Rodriguez, Saleem and Ameen Al-Bahloly. Visitation will begin at 5:00PM, with a rosary to be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. On Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 the 9:00 AM funeral mass at St. Gregory's will be followed by interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Presentation Sisters (8931 Callaghan Rd., San Antonio, TX 78230) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
