Ida Lavada Bradford Willard age 79 of Dallas, Texas passed away December 5, 2011. She was born September 14, 1932 to the late Frank and Ruby Bradford, Sr. in Brookston, Texas. She was the second eldest of six children.

Ida accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and worshipped at New Hebron Baptist Church in Brookston, Texas. Ida attended public school in Honey Grove, Texas where she graduated as Valedictorian from honey Grove High School. She was also an excellent basketball player.

Upon graduation from high school, Ida married her high school sweetheart, Jessie James Willard on January 4, 1953. To this union five children were born.

Ida served in the following capacities as a career woman: Chief Executive of Ida's Maid Service, Houston, Texas and Cafeteria Manager in the Ysleta Independent School District, El Paso, Texas.

She held membership in and served faithfully at Community First Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas and Lillie Grove Baptist Church in Missouri City, Texas. Upon her return to Dallas, Ida became a member of Community Baptist Church and later joined Greater Community First Baptist Church where she worked faithfully until her health did not allow her to regularly attend service.

Ida was a loving, kind and giving, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. Ida met no strangers and never let a person leave her home hungry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Jessie James; one son, Gerald. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Treversia (Ruth), Marian Ann, James (Dorothy) and Darrell; five siblings, Alice Allen, Frank Bradford, Jr. (Faye), Reba Ann Johnson, Bessie B. Davis and Earnestine White (James); one maternal aunt, Dorothy Council; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
