Our beloved wife and mother, Ida Lazenby Putnam Christensen, age 75 of Salem, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 surrounded by her daughters.
She was born February 25, 1935 in Lyman, Utah to James Royal and Ida Wood Lazenby.
She married Euvern Seawright Putnam, Jr., in December 1952 in Payson, Utah. He preceded her in death, December 16, 1977. She later married Odell V. Christensen.
Ida attended Payson High School. She was a seamstress for Utah Sportswear in Spanish Fork and Barbizon in Provo. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as librarian and in the Relief Society.
Survivors include: her husband, Odell; step-children, Gary (Annette) Christensen, Linda Brown; children, Dawn Putnam, Valorie (Jeff) Downey, Pam (Carl) Ivie; an adopted daughter, Leslie Wareham; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Ida Wood Lazenby; brothers, Jessie Lazenby, Jim Lazenby; twin sister, Iva Baker; grandsons Jared and Erik Downey and her 1st husband, Euvern (Putt) Putnam.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 11:00 a.m. Salem 9th Ward, 60 South South Main Street. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Monday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Tuesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson Cemetery.
