Ida Leila Gallagher Shaw
In Loving Memory
1916-2011
Ida Leila Shaw, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, returned to our Heavenly Father on April 9, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born May 3, 1916 in Ramah, NM to Ida and Reulon Gallagher. She grew up in Ramah, Bingham Canyon and Murray, Utah.
Leila married William Arnold Shaw on June 14, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Leila greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her wonderful childhood stories, her thoughtful and engaging telephone conversations, her sharp mind, her concern for others, and her wonderful sense of humor. Leila’s special gift was her love of people, and her ability to make friends wherever she went. Her life touched many friends and family members, and we are fortunate to have so many wonderful memories.
Leila’s family would like to offer a special thanks to the doctors and the nursing staff at St Marks for all the love and kindness they showed our mom during her care.
Leila will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Leila is survived by her children; JoAnn Blair (Tom), Jay Shaw (Helen), Colleen Dawson (Gary); 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother Stan Gallagher (Janet).
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, brothers; Emer, Reno, Oswald; sister, Glenna Purdie and great-grandchildren, Daniel Kempner and Iyke Anum.
