Imogene Jones

Imogene “Jean” Jones, 101, passed away April 22, 2011 at The Groves Care Center. Jean was born December 14, 1909 in Braymer, Missouri, the oldest child of George Chester and Amanda Elizabeth (Day) O’Dell. On June 9, 1928 she married Horace Jones. She lived most of her life in Liberty, MO where she was a member of the Happy Homemakers Club. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Jones; daughter, Byrl Cook; grandson, Mark Cook; five brothers and one sister. Survivors include three sons, Richard A. Jones (Jeanine), Melvin Jones and Eldon R. (Lenora) Jones all of Independence, MO; a daughter, Beth Parker of Bullhead City, Arizona; a sister, Lee Coffman, Lathrop, MO; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Monday April 25 at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, Liberty where funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 26. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery, Liberty. Memorial contributions may be made to Groves Community Hospice, 1415 W. White Oak, Independence, MO 64050.
