Mrs. Ina Mae (Bumbaugh) Buhrman, 96, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of 14228 Royer Road, Cascade, MD, died at 4:40 A.M., Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the nursing home. She had been in failing health for the past two weeks. Born August 27, 1915 in Washington Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Crawford R. and Ina M. (Pryor) Bumbaugh. Mrs. Buhrman attended Sabillasville, MD schools. She and her husband, the late G. Earl Buhrman, were married in August 1932. Mr. Buhrman died on January 3, 1984. In her early years, Mrs. Buhrman was employed at Classic Uniforms in Cascade, MD and also operated her own laundry service for the military stationed at Fort Ritchie in Cascade. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Claire Frock Company in Thurmont, MD for 40 years. She was a member of Germantown Church of God, Cascade, where she was a member of the Willing Gleaner Sunday School class. During her time at Claire Frock, she was also a member of the union. Mrs. Buhrman enjoyed working with flowers. She won many ribbons at the Thurmont and Emmitsburg, MD community shows. She also enjoyed working on flower arrangements for her church. She is survived by two children, Franklin E. "Dutch" Buhrman and his wife Pearl of Cascade and Dollie M. Sanders and her husband Roy of Cascade; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Albert Bumbaugh of Chambersburg, PA; her daughter in law, Dorothy Buhrman of Sabillasville; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Calvin E. "Skip" Buhrman; one great-grandson, Andrew Yarish; four sisters, Sadie Buhrman, Susan Eigenbrode, Edna Buhrman, and Ruth Martin; and four brothers, her twin Crawford Bumbaugh, Jr., Calvin Bumbaugh, Edgar Bumbaugh, and Glenn Bumbaugh. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, with Pastor Mark A. Hosler and Pastor Paul Tobias officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, adjacent to the church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M, Tuesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The family requests the omission of flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, MD, 21719.
