Ingrid Wall Armstrong, age 87, passed away in Lubbock, TX after a long and blessed life on November 13, 2010. She was born August 29, 1923, in Berlin, Germany and moved with her parents at age 11 to New York, NY. She later married the love of her life, Fred P. Armstrong, who brought her to Pecos, TX where she became part of a large pioneer West Texas family and a “full blooded Texan”. She joined her husband in worship as a member of the First Baptist Church. Ingrid expressed her leadership skills through her volunteer activities including P.T.A., scouts, politics and many other community efforts. She took an active roll in her husband’s ranching operations and other business efforts. Ingrid is best described as a faithful and loving wife, mother and friend to many. She nurtured three children and many other relationships, giving endlessly of herself.

Ingrid was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her loving children; daughter, Dorothy (Gary) Cowan; two sons, Steve (Barbara), and Herb; six grandchildren, Christi, Eric (Cindy), and Kyle Cowan; Slade Armstrong, Jennifer (Steve) Osterloh, and Stephanie (Brian) Hall; six great grandchildren, Cody and Kaylynn Cowan, Reese and Hayden Hall, and Cullen and Sydney Osterloh. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Hope Wilson; brother-in-law, Cole Armstrong; cousin, Gloria Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November, 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Pecos, TX with Rev. Clark Ford of Midland and Rev. Greer Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home, Lubbock, TX.
