IRENE ANDERSON Lillie Irene Anderson, of Camas, passed away on May 15, 2011 in Clackamas, OR at the age of 77. She was born on August 15, 1933 in Max Creek, MO. She moved to Washington when she was around 5 years old and graduated from Washougal High School in 1952. Irene married her high school sweetheart, Alan Anderson on June 8, 1952. She was active in school as a yell leader and in drama as well as a member of the drum and bugle corps. She worked several different jobs. She was a telephone operator back when she had to physically connect the lines. She worked as a car hop, bookkeeper and waitressed at both the Parker House and Neder's Café. Irene attended the Lutheran Church and loved computer games, crosswords and crafts. She was an avid reader and never forgot anybody's birthday. She was also a part of the breakfast club at Smitty's and Hometown Buffet. She was preceded in death by her son, Alan, Jr. in 1988 as well as 2 brothers and her parents, James and Eva Miller. Survivors include her husband, Alan, at home; daughters Diane Anderson of Stevenson, Carol (Wayne) McCullough of Washougal, Ann (Will) Harryman of Stevenson; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her life will be celebrated during a funeral service at Straub's Funeral Home on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 1PM. Burial will follow at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
