Irene B. Verneris, age 85, of Hamden & Florida, passed away at her home on December 26, 2011. Irene is the wife of Arthur H. Verneris. Born in New Britain, on June 15, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Frank & Mary Bartlewski. Irene is also survived by her daughters, Karen Carrasco & her husband Roberto of Hamden and Jeanne Verneris of North Haven; her son, William Verneris & his wife Elizabeth of Hamden; grandchildren, Stefanie, Katherine & Andy Varga, Nicole & Simonne Carrasco and Mary Verneris and her sister Dorothy Mitchell of Clinton & Florida. Irene was predeceased by her sister MaryAnn Castellani. Irene worked alongside her husband in their family business, Rainbow Cleaners on Whitney Ave. in Hamden, for over 50 years, she was at one time a dental Hygienist in New Britain. Irene was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, she truly enjoyed her time with her children & grandchildren and her winters in Florida. Her family would like to thank Vitas Hospice Care all those who cared for her. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Wednesday Morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 2911 Dixwell Ave, Suite 104, Hamden, CT 06518.
