A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Youngstown, preceded by closing prayers at 9 AM Wednesday at the funeral home, for Irene M. Veauthier, of Austintown, who passed away Thursday at the Hospice House.Irene was born September 1, 1919 in Youngstown a daughter of the late Ralph T. and Irene M. (Hilbert) Martin.She was a faithful member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Youngstown. She was very devoted to her family. Her husband, Paul V. Veauthier, whom she married June 29, 1940, passed away September 8, 1971.After his death, Irene worked at Strouss' Department Store, and was a poll worker in Youngstown during election time.Irene is survived by six children: Edward N. Veauthier of Cleveland, Paul Thomas (Carole) Veauthier of North Carolina, Barbara I (Keith) Smith of Austintown, Robert J. (Sherry) Veauthier of North Jackson, William E. Veauthier of Goshen Township, and Ralph Veauthier with whom she made her home; one sister Lois Johnston of Phoenix, AZ; fourteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Irene is preceded in death by one brother Ralph "Bud" Martin; two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.Friends may call from 6 PM until 9 PM Tuesday and from 8:30 AM until 9 AM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
