Irene M. Senf, 91, of Montrose, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 5:15 p.m. at her home. She was born on December 27, 1921 in Fort Madison, IA to George W. & Kathryn M. Uhlenhake Krogmeier. She married Herman O. Senf on November 20, 1944 in Fort Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. She worked for a short time at the Sheaffer Pen Company and then was a substitute aide at Summitville for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Catholic Ladies Auxiliary, Altar & Rosary Society and the Montrose Garden Club.
Irene is survived by: 1-daughter: Linda Senf of Montrose, IA; 2-sons: Ronald (Vicki) Senf of Yuma, AZ & Richard "Rick" Senf of Montrose, IA; 2-step daughters: Elsie (David) Tweedy of Montrose, IA & Joyce (Jerry) Weirather of Keokuk, IA; 10-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren; 1-brother: Robert (Helen) Krogmeier of Burlington, IA; 1-sister: Joan Krogmeier of Fort Madison, IA; 1-sister in law: Hilda Krogmeier of Fort Madison, IA and a number of nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, 2-brothers & 1-sister.
Per her wishes, her body has been cremated by King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 with the family to receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish and contributions may be left at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory or at the church the day of the service.
