Isaiah Coe was born July 29, 1923 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, the son of John Coe and Kennia Coe. He was educated in the public schools of Chesterfield County. He attended the Hospitality College, completing a Certificate in Hospitality. At an early age, he moved to Philadelphia, where he remained for several years before moving to Ansonia, Connecticut. For many years, Isaiah was employed for Hostess International Baby Company, makers of such brand names as Wonder Bread. After leaving that company, he worked at KeyRite Wire Company for several years. It was at Hubbell Lighting Company of New Haven, Connecticut that Isaiah retired. After retirement, he returned to his homestead in Hartsville, South Carolina. After moving back home, Isaiah rejoined his childhood church, Greenhill Baptist Church. He was a faithful servant. At the time of his death, he was recognized as a Senior Deacon of his church. He was also a long time member of the Masonic Lodge in Connecticut. He served his Lodge for many years, before demitting to the local Myrtle Masonic Lodge# 64 of Hartsville, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
