IVAN RICHARD FISHER was born April 21, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas, to Joe and Edwina (Tribble) Fisher. He was fortunate enough to marry Lesa on July 30, 1984, and they were a devoted couple who enjoyed working together. He passed from this life Sunday morning, November 7, 2010.

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

The day of his birth, he faced the first of many special challenges in his life. An early arrival and medical complications led to a difficult beginning. But two loving parents along with two older brothers, Armand and Larry, and an extended family fostered Ivan’s determination to conquer difficulties. In later years he would be able to return some of that concern as he and Lesa supported his mother Edwina in her care of his father Joe Fisher during his last illness.

Despite various health problems, he attended Texas Tech, worked in the convenience store business, owned his own locksmith business, and recently embarked on an associate’s degree in accounting. He achieved consistently good grades and was only a few weeks away from completing his degree.

Ivan was a caring person. He and Lesa were determined to make it on their own. While many looked for the easy way, he looked for the honorable way.

Ivan often expressed the wish that his parents could know about his success in school. Now they know.
