Ivy Dameron Artman Farley, 82, of the 1000 block of Kings Cross Quay, Chesapeake, VA, passed peacefully on Jan. 15, 2012, (after a short illness) at her home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her son's father, Joseph "Tex" Artman. She was born in Stuarts Draft, VA, and was the daughter of the late Claude and Margaret (Gilbert) Dameron. Ivy retired from C&P Telephone Company as a chief operator after 35 years. She was a member of the telephone company's retired Pioneer's Club. Ivy is survived by a son, Wayne Artman of Chesapeake, VA; cousins, Bobby and Joan Dameron, Michael and Sharon Dameron, and their son Chad; Cheryl Spencer and her children Travis and wife Sonia Rightmeyer, Katie and husband Aaron Kilborn, and their son Wyatt; and Carrie Spencer; as well as cousins Dwan LeVora; and Iris and her husband Skip McFarland. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel.
