LONGLEY, JACK CARTER December 14, 1920 to November 29, 2011 SAN DIEGO, CA - Dr. Jack C. Longley, 90, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2011. He was born December 14, 1920 in Hamilton County, Texas. In 1942, he received a BS from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He then proudly served his nation in the United States Army. In 1950, he was a graduate of USC School of dentistry. He was an excellent and well-respected pediatric dentist who had a private dental practice in Hillcrest. He had hospital dentistry staff privileges at Children's Hospital. He made great contributions to dental care at Children's Hospital for more than 45 years. He retired in December 1996. He was a member of the San Diego Dental Society, American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association, California Society of Pediatric Dentists, California Pedodontic Research Conference, American Academy of Pedodontics (fellow). His passion was the outdoors enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and an avid golfer. He bred and raised Vizsla and German Short Hair hunting dogs. Jack is survived by his wife Ruth Longley and children James T. Longley of Reno, NV, Jack Carter Longley, Jr. of Bullhead City, AZ, Linda Longley Lorah of San Francisco, and Claudia Longley Speaks of Fresno, CA, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert J. Longley and Bonnie Carter Longley. His son John Christopher Longley, his granddaughter Jessica Lorah, his son in law Pete Lorah, his brother Herbert J. Longley (Jerry). In addition, a special mention of his longtime friend and colleague Dr. Albert Anderson who knew and established a close friendship. Jack is in the care of El Camino Mortuary.
