Air Force Emblem

Jack Ramon Leach passed away on February 22, 2011 at the age of 81 of heart failure, and a patient in ICU at Meridian Park Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Marie Leach (2006), and daughters Lisa Michelle Leach (1990) and Pamela Jean Fay (2009). Jack was born July 1, 1929, in Ashland, Oregon, the only child of Ruth Jean and Grover Beckett Leach. He spent much of his life in Klamath Falls, where he attended public schools and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1948. Shortly following high school graduation, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force, and had the honor of serving his country until his departure from service in late 1954. Jack married the love of his life, Shirley Marie Young of Tulelake, California on June 16, 1961. They had 2 children together, Lisa Michelle (born 1962) and Julie Marie (born 1966). Jack always told the story of how it was love at first sight when he first spotted Shirley sitting on a bar stool at one of his favorite bars; stating that he knew that he was going to marry her from the moment that he laid eyes on her... and he did shortly thereafter! They were life partners, and true companions; and an inspiration to those around them of what a loving relationship and GREAT marriage was made of! Jack and Shirley moved to Lake Oswego in 1971, which is where they purchased their dream home and raised their 2 children. He spent his life both working as a salesman for a number of companies, as well as being a successful entrepreneur. Prior to retiring in 2000, he spent over 10 years serving as the Vice President of Sales for Parts Voice, and was a vital component to the successful growth and ultimate lucrative sale of the company. Jack always lived life big, and to the fullest; and enjoyed being the center of attention and life of the party. Many of life's greatest memories with Jack were spent either on the water - water skiing, or in the mountains - snow skiing. He loved taking his family camping and having many adventures in the wilderness. He also enjoyed traveling, and allowing he and his family to experience many great things and great places over the years. He and Shirley enjoyed creating the most fabulous garden and water feature at their Lake Oswego home, and where they proudly shared it with others over the years. He loved entertaining guests at his home, and enjoying fine wine and fabulous gourmet food prepared and served by his wife, Shirley. In his final years, he enjoyed the ability to live independently in his home, and to enjoy the simple pleasures of life which included the morning newspaper, good books, stock tips, simple foods, good conversation & happy hour with his best friend and neighbor Jim Nixon, and family! Jack is survived by his daughter Jules Rupae and her significant other, Dallas Bogert, Les Fay (son-in-law and widow to Pamela Jean Fay), his 3 Grandchildren, Brian, Bradley and David Fay, and their wives, Holly, Tina and Kayla Fay. And lastly, he is survived by 6 Great Grand Children, Brian Jr., Kimberly Anne, LaNae Jean, Liliana Acacia, Keegan Wyatt and Benjamin Joshua Fay. A private celebration of Jack's life will be enjoyed by family members on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
