Jack Randall Davis of Dallas went to be with the Lord on January 27 at his farm in Quitman, TX. He and twin sister Jeanne were born on Jan. 9, 1935, in Cleveland, OH, and he was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Evelyn Davis. He was a life-long member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Jack grew up in the Adolphus Hotel, where his father was General Manager. He graduated from Highland Park H. S. and his beloved U.T. At both schools he made lifelong friends, many of whom were his brothers in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served the Dallas banking community for over 45 years, beginning his career at Mercantile Bank and retiring from Compass Bank in 2008. Through the years Jack served on the boards of many professional and civic organizations. He was known by his friends and business associates for his integrity and kindness. Many of Jack's friends believed that he was a confirmed bachelor. However, in 1974 he met the love of his life, Sarah. After a five year courtship, they were married in Dallas where they lived for 33 years. Some of their happiest times were spent vacationing in Hawaii and in Beaver Creek, CO. In 2008 they bought a farm in Quitman, Texas, where they created many more happy memories. Much can be said about Jack, but nothing so much as that he was a true gentleman who loved his friends and family, especially his wife, Sarah. He is survived by Sarah and his daughters, Robin Going of Lubbock (Scott) and children Sarah and Scotty, and Allison Evans of Allen (Kirk), and children Carter and Jack. He will always be their beloved "Pa". Also surviving are his sister, Jeanne McEachern of Houston, and niece, Kathleen Panus of Houston and her family. Jack's strong Christian faith and the faith of his family are the rock that provides them strength at this time.
