Jack Theodore Greenfield, age 86, of Wadsworth, Ohio and long-time Parma, Ohio resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Altercare of Wadsworth Center.

Jack was born November 30, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to Carrie (nee Hansen) and Roy Greenfield. He attended school through the 9th grade and then went to work as many young men did at the time. In April 1943 he entered the United States Army at Camp Perry, Ohio and participated in the World War II battles at Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, the Northern Appennines, and the Po Valley. He was proud of his service to his country in Italy and North Africa during his enlistment which lasted until December 1945 where he departed service at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in Pennsylvania.

For over 25 years Jack worked as a metal pattern maker at the Ford Motor Company in Brook Park, Ohio. He was a long-time former member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Parma, Ohio and had most recently enjoyed attending Grace Brethren Church in Orrville, Ohio with his family.

Survivors include his son William R. "Bill" Greenfield (Dixie) of Wadsworth, Ohio, his granddaughter Rebecca Greenfield; his sister Ruth Dangel of Strongsville, Ohio; his long-time dear friend Rita Janke; his brother in law Ben Springett; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Jack in death was his beloved wife Norine B. (nee Springett) Greenfield who passed away on October 30, 1986; his sisters Eleanor Lee (Harry), Mildred Greenwald (Ed), and Dorothy Klatt (Howard); his parents Roy and Carrie (nee Hansen) Greenfield; and his mother and father in law Hattie and Bill Springett.

Jack's family would like to thank the caring staff of the Altercare of Wadsworth Center and the staff of the Hospice of Wayne County for the attentive and compassionate care each provided to Jack and his family.
