Jacob Michael Torres, age 20 of Mesquite, Texas pass away on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Childrens Hospital, in Dallas due to complications of leukemia. This was Jacob's thrid time battling leukemia. Jacob was born in Dallas Texas on April 21, 1991. Jacob was currently a senior at Mesquite High School participating in the Special Olympics and the Home Depo Program. He enjoyed to watch movies such as Titanic, Grease, Childs Play, Toy Story and Spider Man. His favorite characters were Power Rangers, Spider Man and Woody from Toy Story. Jacob loved to dance and sing to Michael Jackson, especially Thriller. Jacob loved to spend time out doors with family and friends.
Jacob is survived by his beloved mother, Yolanda Lara, father, Frank Torres, sisters, Jessica and Julissa Lara, of Mesquite, Tx and brother, Julian Lara, of Elsa, Tx. Grandmother, Felipa Alvarado, of Weslaco, Tx, nephews, Mario Garcia and Angel Olivo, of Mesquite, Tx, and Joseph Lara, of Elsa, Tx, nieces, Ashley and Jennifer Garcia, of Mesquite, Tx, and Jozlyn Lara, of Elsa, Tx, brother-in-laws, Mario Garcia and Leonel Olivo, of Mesquite, Tx, aunts, Diana Rodriguez and Eva Buenrostro, Mesquite, Tx, uncles, Arnold Alvarado, of Dallas, Tx, and Jose Alvarado of Weslaco, Tx and various cousins around the Dallas area.
Jacob will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. Thanks to all the teachers that have touched Jacob and supported our family in this difficult time. Thanks to all of Jacob's doctors and nurses at Childrens Hospital. Thanks to Jacob's church United Methodist of Mesquite, Tx. for all you have done. On behalf of all our family we are thankful from the bottom of our hearts for all your kind acts, support and prayers.
We love you Jacob, our Super Hero!
