James Arkie Robison

James Arkie Robison of Spiro, Oklahoma passed away October 15, 2009, in Spiro at the age of 86. He was born February 9, 1923, in Greenwood, Arkansas to Howard and Nancy (Shackleford) Robison. James is survived by; His wife Nellie of the home, the love of his life of 23 years 11 months One son: Frankie Joe Robison of Poteau, Oklahoma Five step-daughters: Pat Bennett of New Hampshire and husband, David Judy Davidson of Cederville, Arkansas and husband, Charles Sandra Riley of Alma, Arkansas and husband, Terry Pamela Hampton of Fort Smith, Arkansas Tamara Green of Greenwood, Arkansas and husband, Larry A special daughter: Dorthy Dell 7 Grandchildren 11 Step-grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren 20 Step-Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Christine Vandergriff; one son, Jackie Ray Robison; seven sisters; and three brothers. Most of his life from a small child he lived in LeFlore County. He served twice in the CCC's, he was an Army Veteran, a DAV of WWII was a D- Day Survivor; received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal. He worked for the railroad in construction and several years in Law Enforcement. He was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and A Lifetime Member VFW Post 10619 and later transferred to Spiro Post 4884.
