JAMES CARLIN "MIKE" McKEOWN, JR. – LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, BROTHER, AND FRIEND. Mike McKeown was born on September 21, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio to James Carlin McKeown, Sr. and Ruth Delores Theobold McKeown. Mike graduated from Anderson High School in Cincinnati, Ohio before attending the University of Cincinnati. Briefly drafted into the U.S. Army, he began working for the Chrysler Corporation in 1966 as a "repo man," occasionally accompanied by his girl friend, Kathleen Clinton. They married in 1968 and have two daughters, Julie and Amie. Mike continued his 43 year career with Chrysler Financial, serving as a dealer relations manager in various cities in the Midwest including Detroit, Dayton, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and finally back in Detroit. The high points of Mike's calendar were St. Patrick's Day and Christmas. Proud of his Irish ancestry, Mike was affiliated the Ancient Order of Hibernians and often marched in the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. He ensured that the Christmas tree was tall and spectacularly decorated. A good time was always to be had at the McKeown home. While living in Fishers, Indiana, Mike and his family established the "dirty dozen" which led them to the boaters' life. Mike once cut a hole in the garage door to ensure that his boat was stored safely out of the weather. He later served for seven years as the supply manager with the North Channel Yacht Club. He spent many enjoyable days with his family on Dale Hallow Lake in Tennessee and Lake Saint Clair in Michigan. Following retirement, Mike volunteered at the Ladies of Charity Clothes Closet at St. Hugo of the Hills Church in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Loving husband of Kathleen. Dear father of Julie McKeown and Amie McKeown. Brother of Tamara Weiss (Warner) and C. Timothy McKeown (Elzbieta Gozdziak). Uncle of Heidi Weiss-Pemberton (Jay) and Marta McKeown.
