James Sullivan, age 81, of Murfreesboro, passed away, Wednesday February 22, 2006 at Middle TN Medical Center. A native and life long resident of Rutherford County he was a former owner and salesman for many auto lots in Rutherford County. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in WWII and a member of Powell's Chapel Baptist Church.
Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Nannie Liddie Neely Sullivan, sisters, Virginia Eades and Thelma Herrod. He is survived by his wife, Emma Ree Gunter Sullivan of Murfreesboro; brothers Clayton (Beatrice) Sullivan of Murfreesboro, John L. (Blanche) Sullivan of Walter Hill; sisters, Ruth (George) Barrett of Powell's Chapel Community, Sarah (Bill) Pruitt and Mae (Kenneth) Brewer both of Murfreesboro, Louise (Bill) Oden and Dorothy (Carlos) Leverette both of Smyrna.
Funeral service for Mr. Sullivan will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Rev. Tommy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Clayton Phillip Sullivan, Howard Thomas Eades, John Burton Eades, Keith Pruitt, Gary Brewer and Gordon Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be George Barrett, Bill Pruitt, Wylie Ray Herrod, Bill Oden, Carlos Leverette, Kenneth Brewer, James Robert (Bunny) Baskin, Doug Rhodes and Bruce Short.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation with the family will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Jennings and Ayers, 820 S. Church St. Murfreesboro, TN (615) 893-2422
