James Dameron February 28, 1947 –August 20, 2011 James "Bob" Dameron, 64, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011, at home, after an eight year battle with colon cancer. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, with visitation to follow. There will be a private burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Bob was born to Fleda and Clyde Dameron and lived his entire life in the Speegleville community. He accepted Jesus as his Savior as young boy and was life-time member of Speegleville Baptist Church. He graduated from Midway High School in 1965, and served two years active duty in the Navy aboard the USS Rowan. He married Carole Will February 14, 1969, and owned and operated Dameron Automotive for 27 years. After retiring from mechanic work he remodeled several rental houses, owned and operated Dameron Store and Lock and owned and managed several commercial lease buildings. He was a master of many trades. He enjoyed the challenges of new projects and was an excellent problem solver. He never backed down from any obstacle that stood in his way. Throughout the years, he was always available to lend a helping hand and gained great joy from sharing his experience and knowledge with others. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his older sister, Elaine Dameron King, and his younger brother, Billy Dameron. He is survived by his wife, Carole; daughters, Stacey Dameron and Kristi and husband Justin Whitaker; grandchildren, Caleb Whitaker and Anna Grace Whitaker; sister, Joann Dameron Wolf and husband, John, and their daughter, Kelsey Wolf. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the VA Memorial Hospital, both in Waco and Temple, for the loving, attentive care given through the past few years; everyone at Bluebonnet Hospice, especially Jessica, Brandi, Stacy and Nancy, and the staff at Visiting Angels, especially Angelica, for their compassion and care in the last few weeks. Thank you also to all of you who "prayed us through" the last few years and for the many kindnesses shown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; Speegleville Baptist Church, 469 Speegle Rd., Waco, TX 76712, or the charity of your choice. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.WilkirsonHatchBailey.com. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
