Mr. James Earl Spriggs, age 65 of Jackson, Georgia passed away November 17, 2011. He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Hobe and Fannie Dotson Spriggs. He was preceded in death by a son, James Ellis Spriggs and siblings, Betty Bowling and Herman Spriggs. He was a truck driver for over 20 years, having retired from Roadway. His stage name was "Jimmy George Jones" while singing at karaoke shows. He enjoyed gardening, singing and watching Westerns. Survivors include his wife, Pattie Spriggs; children, Bryan Spriggs of Mobile, AL, Lori (Anthony) Farrugia of St. Cloud, FL, Christina Saunders of Jackson; grandchildren, Samantha Farrugia and Jesse Singletary; siblings, Keat Spriggs of Florida, Anna Rae Turner of Drift, KY, Maryetta Edmondson of Tacoma, WA, Joyce Sykes of Ohio, Bertha Williamson of Lexington, KY; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 6:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Rickard will officiate. Friends may visit the family Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Contributions are asked to be made to the Jimmy Spriggs Karaoke Fund in care of Pattie.
