James F. Schultz, 72, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at LaPorte Hospital. He was born June 1, 1938 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Victor "Pikey" Schultz and Loretta (Hensel) Schultz. James lived most of his life in the LaPorte, area. James was an electrician for US Steel for thirty years and also worked at Chicagoland Steel for five years. He was a member of Rolling Prairie Masonic Lodge, and Rolling Prairie Order of Eastern Star. James was a Veteran of the US Army Green Berets with the 101st Airborne Division. He is survived by his three daughters - Jamella (Michael) Monroe, Kim (Brian) Warne, Marcy (Mark Moss) Waldo; one son - Brett (Angie) Schultz; eight grandchildren - Joseph Waldo, Kristina Waldo, Jason Warne, Joshua Waldo, Hannah Schultz, Haley Schultz, Brayton Schultz and Samuel Schultz; two great-grandchildren - Emily Waldo, Jayden Owen; nine sisters and brothers, Barb Struss, June Wood, Jackie Canon, Alice Proud, Wilberta Wood, Victor Schultz, Patty Bell, Ronnie Schultz, and Richard Schultz. James was preceded in death by his parents and sisters and brothers, Betty Reese, Robert Schultz, Alberta Naegel, Judy Herrington, and Jerry Schultz. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, January 7, 2011 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 10:00 am - until time of service. An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday and a Masonic Lodge service at 7:00 pm on Friday. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dan Allen officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of LaPorte 3240 Monroe St. La Porte, IN 46350.
