Mr. James Francis "Frankie" Thomas, 65, died Monday morning (March 12, 2012) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Waycross. He was the son of the late Hiram Francis Thomas and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Allen, a son, Jack David Hineline, Sr, a grandson, Sean Phillip Merkle, Jr., and a sister, Barbara Ann Pearson. He retired as a truck driver with Pierce Timber Co, and a boat-tour operator at the Okefenokee Swamp Park for ten years. Survivors include a daughter, Jammie Thomas (husband Pete Teston) of Waycross; six grandchildren, William james Allen of Texas, Victor Kirk Allen of Texas, Britt Annie Chaz Humphries of Birmingham, AL, Johnathan Blade Byrd of Waycross, Kayla Leighanne Merkle of Waycross, and Jack David Hineline, Jr. of Waycross; three great grandchildren, Alannah Brooke Allen, Christopher Blake Allen and Anslee Elizabeth Byrd; his mother, Cleo Thomas of Waycross; a sister, Sharlotta Arnold (husband Brian) of Waycross; four brothers, Van Burkhalter of Homerville, Danny Thomas (wife Judy) of Waycross, Johnny Thomas (wife Becky) of Millan, GA, and Roger Thomas (wife Chachi) of Manor, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday (March 18, 2012) at Zenith Baptist Church of Manor.
