“The staff of Stevens Mortuary wishes to offer condolences to the family of Mr. Clark. ”

My friend and husband of 63 years, Jim, has passed on Wednesday, Oct. 10th 2012 at home. He died suddenly from a heart attack. Those who knew him don't need a list of things he did, and those who didn't know him, wouldn't care. But his daughters each wrote memories of him. I wanted that list of things he did to identify him to people he may have seen him around North Hills, Second Presbyterian Church, Metropolitan Life, Fountain City Lodge and Scottish Rite where he was a member for 50 years, but didn't necessarily know his name. These notes paint a picture of a man who was loved. From his daughter, Victoria Shope: He always listened - blind in one eye from an early age, but saw everything. Older years, lost his vision, but never lost his feelings. Later, crippled in both legs, but always supported my dreams and understood my heart. From his daughter, Casey Boling: He gave me the foundation of my faith - telling me that if you have love in your heart, you will always make the right decisions. He also informed me that when selecting a mate - pay attention to how he treats his mother - that's the way he'll treat you. From his daughter, Kimberly Brumitte: From the time I was born he helped me through this life. He taught me about God, the importance of family and to be fair. I was fascinated by his unique beliefs and eager to learn from him. We are part of one another and he will live forever in my heart. We all three felt honored to be his daughter and he was honored to be our father. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Cremains will be placed privately in accordance with the will. Friends may also call at the residence at their convenience. Stevens Mortuary is in charge.
