The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Milton Glenn Dugger and Sybil Ussery Dugger. He was a 1947 graduate of Culleoka High School. Mr. Dugger was employed at Monsanto Chemical Company and retired after 40‐plus years. In most recent years, he and his wife Lois, "Daddy" & "Mama", enjoyed working with their son "Jimmy D" at Crye-Leike Realtors in Columbia, Tennessee.
Long associated with life in Culleoka—Mr. Dugger managed the Dugger & Son general store with his father, drove a Culleoka school bus to basketball games, guided the Culleoka Volunteer Fire Department during its infancy and was the last surviving founder of the Fire Department. He was active in the Culleoka Community Club. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 70 years, where he was honored as deacon emeritus, former song leader, Sunday School teacher, and youth leader.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Lois Johnson Dugger of Culleoka; a son, James Glenn "Jimmy D" Dugger, Jr. of Columbia; a daughter, Martha Dugger (Don) Harris of Nashville; two grandsons, Zachary Glenn (Claire) Harris and Preston Robert Harris, both of Nashville; one great granddaughter, Evelyn Harris of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Doris J. (Ken) Fail and JoAnn (James) Walker, both of Murfreesboro; and brother-in-law, Clarence Thomas "C. T." Johnson, Jr. of Columbia.
Active pallbearers will be Don McKee, Kenny Nixon, James Walker, Rick Malone, Robbie Parrish, Scott Smith, and John Zimmer. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Joy Sunday School Class of Friendship Baptist Church, Jeff Graham, Jerry Love, Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Houston Jameson, Dr. John Jensen, Dr. Joel Kochanski, and Dr. Mike Sattasiri.
