Causman, James George, 87, of Clearwater, passed peacefully into his eternal rest on Friday December 30, 2012 at the Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida.
He was born July 17, 1924 in his home in Barberton, Ohio to Nicolaus and Grace (Sens) Causman. He graduated from Barberton High School on June 4, 1942. After graduation he worked as an assembler at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio from August 1942 until February 1943. He then went to Cleveland, Ohio where he enlisted in the Navy on February 26, 1943, a proud WWII veteran who served on the USS Sigourney.
On May 4, 1946 he married Eileen Addie Gregory. They were introduced by his cousin Evelyn one evening and it was love at first sight. Jay and Eileen had two children, Gregory James and Darlene Joy Causman. Last May they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Jay was a barber at South Plaza in Akron, Ohio for many years. He then got into Real Estate as well as Insurance. Later he found his way into furniture, Carpet and Aluminum siding sales. His last work before he came to Florida was at the B & C Machine Shop in Barberton, Ohio
Jay was a man who loved sports. He bowled, golfed, enjoyed ping-pong, billiards, chess, checkers and cards. He was a big T V sports fan of football and basketball.
He is survived by his son, Gregory James Causman of Barberton, Ohio; his daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Ron Baksa of Palm Harbor, Florida; grandchildren, Leisa and Melissa Causman of Ohio, Janine Serfass and husband David of Tarpon Springs,Florida, Ronald Baksa and wife Victoria of Apollo Beach,Florida, Jalene Romano and husband Michael of Bradenton, Florida; great grandchildren, Nathan, Dylan and Aaron of Ohio, Destinie, Jacob, Lucas, Sydney, Jake, David, Hanna and Caden of Florida.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Eileen.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Donations may be made in Jay's name to the Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care James received from all his attendants there.
James will be always in our hearts and minds. A family man who cared deeply for his loved ones.
