JAMES H. LAGERGREN died February 7, 2013 at age 87. Resident of Bingham Farms for 18 years, formerly of Bloomfield Hills. James was a longtime Product Engineer for General Motors. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, and graduated from Denby High School as well as Lawrence Tech. He received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Chrysler Institute. He retired in 1980 after 25 years with General Motors. James enjoyed the cottage in Ontario, fishing, travel, staining glass, spectator sports including Tigers, Wings and golf. Beloved husband of Virginia A. for 18 years, and the late Florence A. Dear father of Tom Lagergren (Sue), Paul Schulz (Robin), Mark Schulz (Theresa) and David Schulz. Loving grandfather of Kristin, James, Jennifer (Juan), Carolyn, Emma, Jack, Laura, Julia, Erica, Kirby and Carly, and one great-granddaughter, Sophia. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2013, from 1-6 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd., Troy (between Maple & Big Beaver). The Funeral Service will be Monday, February 11 - 11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 West Maple Road, Birmingham.
