James Henry Goad, 85, of the 800 block of Cardinal Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, passed away August 6, 2011, in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Claudville, VA, he was the son of the late Lehue and Lula Goad. He was the retired Owner and Operator of J&L Distributing. He was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and was a Naval veteran of WWII. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucenie Walker Goad. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Hanson and husband Steve of Chesapeake, VA; two grandchildren, Marshall Hanson and Andi Greene; two sisters, Nell Belton and Nan Williams; a brother, Harry Goad; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel with Rev. Ted David officiating. The burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
