James J. Knight, age 80 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010. He was a long time member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and graduated from Rule High School. James received the rank of “Chief Master Sergeant” in the Air National Guard – 119th Regiment. He retired after serving as President of Gray Hodges Corporation. James was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarence H. Knight and Clara Watson Knight; brother, William K. Knight; sister, Helen R. Knight; sister-in-law, Peggy Knight. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Margaret Sullivan Knight; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Jennifer Knight; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Steve Atchley; grandchildren Johanna, James Knight, and Clay Atchley; brother, Howard D. Knight; sister-in-law, Shirley Knight; and many longtime friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in memory of James J. Knight, 701 Merchants Road, Knoxville, TN 37912.
