Mr. James Jim D. Ward, age 87, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 7, 1920 in Wrayswood, GA, the son of the late Wayne J. and Hattie D. Ward. He married Mollie Kate Dugger on May 10, 1942 at Park Street United Methodist Church, Atlanta. They celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. Jim proudly served his country during World War II as a sergeant in the 487th Bomb Group (H) of the Eight-Army Airforce. He worked at the Tull Equipment Company as Vice President of Machine Sales for 54 years. Jim and Mollie Kate moved to Lithia Springs in 1950 and joined Lithia Springs United Methodist Church and offered leadership to the church throughout 57 years of faithful service. He was a Scottish Rite Mason, 50-year member of the Austell Latham Lodge, volunteer for Douglas County Meals on Wheels, and served as a committee member and troop treasurer of Lithia Springs Boy Scout Troop 62.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mollie Kate Ward of Lithia Springs; by his dear sister Mildred Foster of Raleigh, NC; daughter Cynthia Ann Camp and her husband William Carlisle Camp of Douglasville, GA; his son Gary Dugger Ward of Lithia Springs, GA; grandchildren, James Robert Camp of Lithia Springs, Dugger Carlisle Camp and his wife Cassandra Leigh of Ft. Belvoir, VA

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Lithia Springs United Methodist Church with Dr. Larry Wilson, Rev. Larry Caywood, and Rev. Marion Pierson officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
