WILKINS, JAMES, L. "JIMMY" Loving father, grandfather, husband and brother passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 85. He is survived by his children, Patrick Wilkins and wife Debbie and Stephen Wilkins and wife Jeanne and his four grandchildren, Justin, Shane, Claire and Grace who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Edna Newman and her husband Melvin of Lubbock, Texas, and his brother-in-law Danny Dunsworth and wife Theresa, of Glendale, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elsie D. Wilkins in 2008. Jimmy was born on September 12, 1926 to Thomas and Victoria Wilkins in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He graduated with a Masters Degrees in Education from Highlands University. After graduation he was employed with APS as a coach, counselor and driver's education teacher for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed his time as a referee for NMAA football and basketball games across the state. After retiring, he loved playing golf with his friends, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and long time member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. His everlasting smile, positive outlook on life and abundance of patience will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at Oasis Family Church, 4800 Lomas NE, on Thursday, December 1, 2011, 10:00am. Interment will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011, 11:15 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
