Husband, father, brother, friend, James "Jim" L Martin.
Born May 11, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Passed December 15, 2011, in Dallas Texas at age 64. His final days were spent with his wife Pat Martin; with whom he spent 33 loving years together. Jim was also surrounded by extended family members and friends.
In addition to his love for his family, Jim also had a passion for fishing…a passion he acquired from his father. He considered anytime spent fishing as a good time, even if he didn't hook a fish.
The most daunting challenge of Jim's life came when his health was threatened. He fought Leukemia for several years before the disease advanced. But even on his toughest days, Jim maintained a positive attitude. His caregivers often commented how much they loved him and were often heard saying: "Mr. Martin you are so funny".
Jim's life was too short, but for those who were touched by him understood what a truly special person he was. He never met a stranger; he always had a kind word to say about everyone and brightened the room with his mere presence.
Although Jim's illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength and perseverance along with the ability to make others laugh despite his medical challenges. His warm smile could instantly make the world a better place.
With Jim's passing we remind others that his life is one to be rejoiced. Although we will miss him every day, he will remain forever in our hearts.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two sisters, four children and six grandchildren.
At Jim's request, a cremation will be performed with no memorial service.
